Doctor’s motto

With DSG, we don’t place implants by feel. We place implants by design. Safe for the patient, reassuring for the dentist.

Dr. Vo Ta Dung, Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dental implants are more than just inserting a screw into the bone – they’re about restoring the patient’s ability to chew and smile.

A doctor’s joy comes from seeing patients enjoy their meal and smile genuinely.

After completing digital dentistry training in Busan (South Korea), Dr. Vo Ta Dung gained access to Digital Dentistry: designing restorations using 3D software, and placing implants according to computer-generated drawings. This served as the foundation for Dr. Vo Ta Dung to bring DSG surgical guide to Vietnam.

The DSG surgical guide: how is it made?

Using 3D Cone Beam CT scans, doctors create a plan for implant placement using software, then 3D print a custom-made guide for each individual’s jaw.

A 3D-printed guide made for your jaw

The DSG surgical guide (Digital Surgical Guide) is a digital surgical guide, custom-designed for each patient in 3D software from Cone Beam CT scans. During surgery, the guide sits directly on the jaw so the dentist places the implant at the exact position, angle and depth planned in advance.

  • No gum incisionplaced through guide holes
  • Included in thepackage price, no extra charge

Why use a surgical guide?

Freehand or by design?

Even a surgeon’s experience can have a margin of error. DSG eliminates that margin of error by planning the entire implant procedure on a computer before touching the jaw.

Freehand placementDSG guided placement
Implant position✕Based on experience and feel during surgery✓Exact position, angle and depth planned in advance
Gums✕Usually requires cutting and lifting a gum flap✓No gum incision, less bleeding
Safety✕Nerves and maxillary sinus are hard to anticipate✓Safe distances calculated in advance
Recovery✕More swelling and pain, slower healing✓About 5 minutes per implant, less swelling and pain, teeth within 6 hours

Q&A

Frequently Asked Questions about DSG surgical guide

What is DSG surgical guide?

DSG (Digital Surgical Guide) is a digital surgical guide, custom-designed for each patient using 3D software from Cone Beam CT scans. During surgery, the guide is pressed directly onto the jaw to allow the surgeon to implant the implant in the correct position, angle, and depth as pre-programmed.

It is safer than the traditional method because it eliminates errors caused by intuition. The position of the implant, its orientation, depth, distance to the nerve and maxillary sinus are all calculated in advance on a computer.

The dentist implants the implant through a pre-existing hole in the guide, without making an incision in the gum, resulting in less bleeding, less swelling and pain, and faster recovery. Each implant takes approximately 5 minutes to implant, and with immediate restorations, you will have your teeth within 6 hours.

No. The DSG surgical guide is included in the dental implant package price at San Dentist. You can see the details in the Dental Implant Prices.
